Game Designer | Adjunct Professor | Audio Specialist

Hi, I'm Jared Burkart, a passionate game designer and educator with over a decade of experience creating interactive experiences that go beyond traditional gameplay. I specialize in systems design and audio design, and I've had the opportunity to work on everything from corporate training games to award-winning marketing campaigns. My goal is always the same—crafting engaging, meaningful games that connect with players in unique ways.

My Journey

I earned my BA in Digital Entertainment and Game Design from ITT Technical Institute, graduating with National Technical Honors in 2013. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some amazing companies, including Quicken Loans and Rock Central, where I led game design projects that blended entertainment with education and marketing. Whether it’s designing game systems or creating immersive audio environments, I love pushing the boundaries of what games can do.

One of my proudest achievements is a training game I designed that could predict, with 97% accuracy, whether players would pass federal and state licensing exams. I’ve also designed a mobile game that encouraged players to explore the city of Detroit, learn about its history, and engage with its culture. On top of that, I had the incredible opportunity to work with Disney and Marvel Studios on a Snapchat game for a marketing campaign that became one of their most successful.

Teaching and Mentorship

I’m currently an Adjunct Professor at Lawrence Technological University, where I teach game design methodology and systems design to first- and third-year students. I also mentor and guide interdisciplinary student teams, helping them turn their creative ideas into games. Teaching has given me the chance to give back to the game design community, and I love seeing the next generation of designers grow and succeed.
